India Vs New Zealand : 3rd test, Wellington
Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh scored half-centuries to lead India to 375-9 on the opening day of the 3rd and final cricket Test against New Zealand in Wellington.
Captain Dhoni hit 52 and Harbhajan scored 60 after the tourists lost their first six wickets for 131 runs in slumping to 204-6. World record run scorer Sachin Tendulkar made 62 before all five tail-end batsmen frustrated the bowlers by getting into double-figures. Zaheer Khan smashed Iain O’Brien for 18 runs from five balls then was caught behind off the final delivery of the over for 33.
The Indians won the opening Test and forced a draw in the second match after being forced to follow on, putting them within reach of a first series victory in New Zealand in 41 years. The Black Caps won the toss.
