It has been very irritating to see MS Dhoni promoting himself ahead of Suresh Raina in the recent T20 matches for India. This too when Suresh Raina is in tremendous form. MS Dhoni is not exactly a natural free stroking player in a team filled with players of that kind. India has Yuvraj Singh,Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan who can hit without actually trying to hit.
If you would have followed Chennai Super Kings you would have seen the trend MS Dhoni never got really going in terms of his powerful hitting. His main area is straight down the ground and for playing that shot he needs come down the track, but Raina and Yuvraj can produce huge hits all around the ground. A player like Raina can make the bowler unsettled right from the word go and help his batting partner. Today the opposite effect was evident against Bangladesh, where both Dhoni and Gambhir got bogged down thanks to a very conservative batting approach till 16th over.Once Yuvraj came in it felt like he is playing in a totally different ground and against a different set of bowlers, he was immediately able to push the bowlers to err in line and length.
Though India won the match comfortably today , whomsoever is calling the shorts in terms of batting order should not send Dhoni in at No 3.
yaa i totally agree with above content. here nobody want to see dhonis batting. since raina is in such a good form, he should come at no 3. otherwise it will put india in trouble.
