The Schedule of 2011 World Cup will be announced by International Cricket Council (ICC) on November 9th 2009. ICC also announced that Bangladesh will host the opening ceremony on February 17 2011 and the World Cup 2011 will start on February 19 2011.
ICC had set the Central Organizing Committee (COC) that has decided to inspect the venues in India, Sri-Lanka and Bangladesh from October-November this year.
Tournament director Ratnakar Shetty said, “This was another productive meeting and we have continued to make real progress. We are operating at full steam ahead for what should be a great event in 2011 and there is a great spirit of cooperation among the hosts and the ICC.”
ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat, Vice-President Sharad Pawar and representatives of the three host countries attended the COC meeting.
