Indian team is currently in South Africa to take part in the ongoing Champions Trophy. They are having the tournament opener against Pakistan on Saturday. With this in the cards, Indian deputy Yuvraj Singh has fractured a finger on his right hand during a fielding session in Johannesburg. The injury was a bit serious that he had to miss the batting and the bowling sessions that were conducted in the later part of the day.
He was attended by physio Nitin Patel and it was found that he had fractured his finger. Already Virender Sehwag is out with a shoulder injury and has not been included in the series; while Gautam Gambhir, who did not play the warmup match against New Zealand, is nursing his groin strain.
With Yuvraj’s injury, it’s going to be a major setback for the team as they face their arch rivals on Saturday. It is also said that Virat Kohli would replace the injured Yuvraj.
