Pakistan won their opening match in this ICC Champions Trophy beating West Indies by 5 wickets and with 117 balls remaining.
West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first but they were bowled out by the fierce Pakistan team under the captaincy of Shahid Afridi. West Indies lost all the wickets by 34.3 overs and scored 133. Mohammed Aamer and Umar Gul captured three wickets each, Saeed Ajmal two while Shahid Afridi and Naved-ul-Hasan got one wicket each.
Pakistan started their batting with the target of 134 which seemed quite easy for them and they reached the target in 30.3 overs with 5 wickets remaining. Umar Akmal scored the highest for Pakistan with 41 runs not out and was adjudged man of the match. Tonge captured 4 wickets with economy of 2.50.
