Its is party time at the BCCI with billions of dollars cradling at their laps once again with the auctions of two new teams from IPL 2011.You have to see to believe that the combined cost of the two teams is more than Rs 384 crores than the current eight IPL teams combined.
BCCI Bigwigs might have been having their hearts in their mouth as even they did not expect the IPL auction to go this costlier with huge amounts of potential revenue turnaround from this year.It does not mean that BCCI the richest cricket board in the world is doing average for the last 6 years.Sahara the Official Team Sponsor for Indian Cricket Team has joined the bandwagon with the costliest buy of Rs 1702 crores for Pune team. And Rendezvous,a group of Real estate businessmen brought together by Mr.Sashi Tharoor,Mos for External affairs, buying the Kochi team for Rs 1533 crores.Hope this IPL auctions and Mr.Sashi’s participation does not end up in the list of controversies,he is upagainst eversince his holding of the ministry portfolio.
This is a sort of Raining of Dollars and it would have brought the EPL team like Chelsea,Manchester City bosses to look up as to what is happening over here in bundles of dollar transactions.Hope this buying of Teams wont be extended further after some period of 3 years as International Cricket would suffer the most with most number of IPL teams.
Days wont be far ahead when IPL team owners would own or find a stake in most of the EPL teams or in the reverse way the EPL bosses trying to find a way to buy their own IPL team.
Keep your fingers crossed as this might happen with higher probability.
