There was deafening roar in the packed Braboune Stadium in the Second Innings of the Mumbai Vs CSK match. It was not a scoring of a century, double or triple by any player or a match turnaround catch or an electric fielding.
It was just Mumbai’s own man Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar taking guard on nought for the second ball of the innings.Such is the renewed gloss of this man for the past few months when he has literally machined his run making skills.Yesterday it was another prime example of so near yet so far thought for the Chennai super kings. After making a very good 180,the match never looked like getting close in the Second innings with Sachin and Shikar Dhawan blasting their way to a near century partnership(92 runs) in around 9 overs. And whenever it looked like a pressure was nearly building up Sachin would open it up with a classical copy book boundary shots.
CSK is learning it the hard way in this tournament where their batters and bowlers have never clicked in unison and its the bowlers turn yesterday to suffer at the hands of Mumbai Indians.Though the idea was good to draft in Jakati along with Murali as their was some turn in the pitch, but the match was lost way before these 2 bowlers could be brought into the attack.CSK has been steadily going downwards in the table and they have to pull up their socks for their second round of the tournament with only match of its first round left against the Rajasthan Royals. In the other match of the day,Delhi stopped the winning march of Bangalore with a clinical performance and Lalit Modi would have been the happiest man as now yesterday’s results have left the table wide open and all 8 teams have a chance to progress to the semifinals going into the second round of the tournament
