From the day one Lalit Modi’s displeasure at Kochi being selected as one of the new franchise was evident, He wanted Ahmedabad as the second team after Pune, but sadly for him bidding process isn’t that predictable. But it appears Lalit Modi is a sore loser, he has started tweeting the confidential shareholding details of Kochi Franchise, irking anger from BCCI as well as Kochi Franchise.
Kochi IPL team has responded saying “Will Lalit Modi release the information for Kolkata and Rajasthan as well? Why should he target us? “. The whole episode isnt going to gain any sympathizers for Modi, and might face the irk of ruling Congress, as he is a close friend of former Rajasthan CM (BJP) Vasundara Raje . Also the claim of Modi that he only wants to have clarity about shareholders will find very less takers, considering Lalit Modi’s image prior to IPL was not a clean one.
The battle between Lalit Modi and Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has taken a serious turn today as IPL Kochi team came out saying that Modi was ready to pay money if IPL Kochi bid is withdrawn.
Lets see how this one ends next week in BCCI executive meeting.
