BCCI conducts workshop about WADA
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) conducted its first workshop for the physios of the state teams in an attempt to spread awareness about World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)’s code.
Renowned sports medicine expert Vece Paes who had previously worked with the Asian Cricket Council, along with Indian team physio Nitin Patel and National Cricket Academy head coach, education and sports science, Kinjal Suratwala, conducted the daylong workshop at the Cricket Centre. Aijaz Ashai, Mumbai team’s phyiso said, “It was a really useful programme. I have been with the Indian rugby team and also been part of IPL, but today I learnt much more. It will help improve communication between the support staff of the Indian team and the physios from the state units.”
BCCI statement said that the participants were briefed on the various points about the anti-doping code and were given copies of handbooks provided by the National Anti-Doping Agency.
